Terms & Conditions

  1. LingoSkills classes are presented by experienced professionals. However, every student is different and thus no guarantee or warranty is made by LingoSkills as to results that may be attained by attending our lessons or using our educational and / or training materials. All services, lessons, courses and their content are provided "as is” without representations or warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, in respect thereof, and in particular, we make no representations or warranties regarding the quality of the lesson / course content or the fitness of the lesson / course content for the purpose for which you acquired it.
  2. LingoSkills cannot help a student who is not interested in improving their skills, who does not participate or who has a specific learning disability that needs to be addressed by a remedial professional. The student undertakes to attend the lessons personally, to arrive punctually and to actively participate in the lessons.
  3. For month-to-month classes, lesson fees are payable at the beginning of the month, before the first lesson.
  4.  Packages for lessons are payable in advance before classes start.
  5. Payment can be made via EFT or, if so arranged, via debit order (only for month-to-month classes). All payments should be marked with the student’s name and surname. The person signing the application takes responsibility for paying all required fees.
  6. If a student is late for class, he will be taught for the remaining scheduled time only. Missed time will not be added to the session or future sessions. If a student is more than 15 minutes late with no prior warning given to the tutor, the class will be forfeit.
  7. Classes that are missed are not refundable. If possible, and if having received timeous prior warning (a minimum of 3 days), the class may be rescheduled. This will be done at the educator’s discretion.
  8. LingoSkills will endeavour to provide safe environment for all students but we need to be informed of any medical concerns (such as allergies, asthma, diabetes etc.) to enable us to know what to do and who to contact in the case of an emergency.
  9. Neither LingoSkills nor its representatives will accept responsibility for any accident that may occur to any student whether inside or outside the premises.
  10. Lessons are offered month to month (four or eight lessons a month) can be cancelled by simply giving us 30 days notice. Other packages will be deemed to be finished after the number of lessons chosen have been completed. Additional packages can then be chosen.
  11. Price changes or increases will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.
  12. Schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances on our side will be kept to bare minimum and any classes missed as a result will be rescheduled.
  13. LingoSkills reserves the right to refuse or terminate service with any person who in any way behaves inappropriately. This includes but is not limited to unlawful, discriminatory, defamatory, offensive, libellous, inflammatory, obscene, hateful or other behaviour which contravenes the laws and statutes of the Republic of South Africa or any international law or with whom LingoSkills decides, for any reason, not to be involved.
  14. LingoSkills and its representatives do not accept responsibility and will not be liable for damages or loss in respect of property of the student or in respect of property brought onto our premises by the student or in respect of injury to persons (including the student himself) howsoever caused. A student’s property is the sole responsibility of the student at all times.
  15. LingoSkills and its representatives do not accept responsibility and will not be liable for any failure to comply with any of its obligations, including lessons not presented (and therefore shall not be required to provide any compensation) due to to any cause beyond our reasonable control including, without limitation, failure or interruption of power supplies, failure of fixed line (ADSL) and / or other internet connectivity, failure of a network(s), technical failures, service interruptions, electromagnetic interference, radio interference, embargo, accident, epidemics, flood, drought, lightning, fire, any acts of God, labour disturbances including but not limited to strike, lockout, or other industrial disputes (whether involving the workforce of the party so prevented or of any other party), environmental hazards, acts of terrorism, acts or omissions of Government, civil disturbance, political disturbances, war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, natural or nuclear disaster, unusually adverse weather conditions, infectious diseases or any other circumstances beyond our control. Nor shall LingoSkills and its representatives be responsible for any costs incurred by or on behalf of the student as a result of any such cause.
  16. The student and / or his guardian do hereby indemnify LingoSkills and its representatives in respect of any damage caused by the student to LingoSkills property or to the property of third parties as a result of the student’s actions whilst on the premises.
  17. Students must pay the full cost of any damage they cause to LingoSkills property.
  18. Parents/carers are requested to drop the student off no more than 10 minutes before the start of class, and to fetch them no more than 5 minutes after class.
  19. The client or his agent certifies that he is above the age of 18 years, has full contractual capacity and, if acting as the client’s agent, is duly authorized by the client to contract on the client’s behalf.
